Joe and Megans Honeymoon September 2010
Thanks to everyone at Go2Tanzania/Zanzibar for making such a wonderful honeymoon.

When we arrived in Zanzibar, there was someone there to greet us but then mentioned to us that they had been waiting for 2 hours for us and that we were late arriving in Zanzibar. We were transferred to the Fumba Beach Lodge but when we arrived it was dark so could not really appreciate the beautiful setting until the next morning.
Fumba Beach Lodge really exceeded our expectations and were spoilt with the privacy and exclusivity. This is exactly what we needed after the hectic time of planning a wedding and then the tiredness that comes with the travelling. On our second night they upgraded us free of charge to one of their Suits for the remainder of our stay. The food was excellent and the staff were always very friendly and chatty even with broken English (occasionally teaching us some small bits of Swahili). While in Zanzibar we visited Stonetown and also went on a tour of a spice farm which were both amazing.

Fumba was very good. The photos on the website do not do it justice. The beach is beautiful and activities such as snorkelling were very good.

We didn't have to pay an exit tax from Zanzibar which was a plus - especially as the hotel drinks and food for lunch were twice the price of mainland Tanzania. We were a bit taken aback as we hadn't budgeted for that much which meant we went way over budget. The meal in the Zanzibar Palace Hotel was also astronomical - £200 dollars for 5 mains and a bottle of wine! This also meant that we couldn't tip as much as we would have liked.
We met a great Dutch couple at the Sultan Sands hotel and went on the Dolphin tour. Poor Sofia and Joe were sea sick but we saw the dolphins and the rest of us swam in the sea with them which was such an incredible experience.
We took some fantastic photos and have already bored the rest of our family with the 800 odd pics! I will definitely recommend the trip to anyone who will listen. thank you so much to you and the team for putting this together and making it the most memorable experience we have all had - so far!!!
