Situated on Zanzibar’s east coast, right on the white sand beach, is the small boutique hotel of Anna of Zanzibar. The hotel is only about an hour’s drive from Stone Town, right between Jambiani and Raz Michamvi. Named after the traditional trading currency of olden times, the hotel offers 5 star luxury in a colonial setting.

The hotel consists of 4 luxury villas set within the tropical gardens. Each has a bedroom, a dressing room and a separate lounge area as well as an en-suite bathroom. The rooms are air conditioned, have ceiling fans, a mini- bar and tea and coffee making facilities. They are decorated in a mixture of colonial and Zanzibari style and have views over the Indian Ocean. A full room service is available on request.

Meals can be taken on the beach or in the gardens as you wish and there is a Shisha lounge where you can enjoy afternoon tea or relax with an evening drink. There is also a freshwater swimming pool or you can while away the day in one of the private beach huts scattered around the grounds. During low tide it is possible to walk out to the outer reef to watch the marine life. Alternatively you can take a cycle ride along the sands.

The hotel work with the local Buccaneer Dive Centre, which is a short 10 minute drive away, to offer diving trips to the reef situated on the south east coast of the island, diving courses, half and full day fishing trips and kite surfing.

Anna of Zanzibar is also ideally situated for trips to explore the exotic island of Zanzibar. A visit to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Zanzibar is easily achieved and there is a choice of trips around the island to include exciting Spice and cultural tours.
