Baraza lies on the south eastern coast of the island of Zanzibar, along the award winning Bwejuu beach, recently voted by Conde Nast as one of the top 30 island beaches in the world. This beautiful boutique Villa resort evokes the heritage of Zanzibar dating back to the era of the Sultans. Approximately 50 minutes drive from the airport and Stone Town, the Resort is situated on a 400 metre stretch of fine sand beach, with access to the coral reef that runs down the eastern shore of Zanzibar.

There are 14 one bedroom villas and 15 two bedroom villas, as well as one Presidential two bedroom villa. All of the villas are designed to characterize classic Swahili architecture featuring dramatic arches, cement Baraza benches and intricate hand carved cement decorations. Each villa features a television plus CD player, tea and coffee making facilities, mini bar and plunge pool, as well having en-suite facilities. The Presidential villa also has a central living area, a dining area and a small kitchenette. There is also a separate, self contained accommodation for maid or butler adjacent to the presidential suite.

There is a choice of restaurant at the Baraza Resort, each inspired by Arabic, Indian, Persian, Asian and Swahili flavours using the local spices for which the island is famous. Every evening features a different influence showcasing the islands produce and spices. Breakfast is served on the Livingstone Terrace; lunch is served at the Ocean Lounge Bar & Restaurant whilst dinner is taken at the Sultans Dining Room. After dinner drinks are available at the Dhahabu Bar & Lounge.

There are many facilities available at the hotel. There is a swimming pool as well as a water sports centre, offering guests all types of water sports from sailing, kite surfing, wind surfing, snorkelling and diving trips. There is also a library, bazaar shop, tennis court and fitness centre. There is also a Spa available for guests.
