Mapenzi Beach Club is a larger all-inclusive property set in 4 acres of tropical gardens on the East coast of Zanzibar. It is approximately 45 kilometres from the airport and is situated on a long stretch of palm-fringed beach shared only with the local fishermen bicycling past.

The hotel has a total of 87 makuti thatched rooms, comprising 30 sea front, 36 standard and 21 garden bungalows. The seafront rooms are situated on the beachfront and you can step from your room straight onto the white sand! The standard rooms are set behind the seafront rooms and have a partial sea view through the palms. The garden rooms are set within the lush greenery of the gardens and are good value for money. Each room is furnished in a traditional African style, is spacious and has mosquito nets, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, a hairdryer, safe, refrigerator and en suite facilities. Each bungalow has a veranda on which to relax, soak up the sunshine or read a book.

The main restaurant serves both local and international dishes in buffet-style and is open-air with views of the ocean. There is also an a la carte seafood restaurant and pizzeria as well as a well stocked Beach bar serving throughout the day. The Pool bar serves cocktails both before and after dinner.

Mapenzi Beach Club is an ideal choice for those wanting an active holiday as the facilities available are wide and varied. The swimming pool offers guests the use of deck chairs and pool towels and there are beach activities and aerobics to keep you amused. Included as part of the all-inclusive package is the hire of beginners windsurfing equipment and various sporting activities such as tennis, volleyball, archery, football and the hire of canoes. Also available at a local charge are other activities such as bicycle hire, snorkelling, windsurfing, catamarans and laser dinghy. Waterskiing, wakeboarding and banana tube riding are also available.
