Situated on the north east coast of Zanzibar, the Mchange Beach Lodge is set on a powder white sand beach offering spectacular views of the whire sand beaches and swaying coconut palms.

There are 6 sea view lodge rooms and 2 garden suites. The sea view lodge rooms feature a hand crafted four poster bed, high quality bed linen and wooden louver shutters as well as air-conditioning, a ceiling fan and en suite facilities. The rooms are spacious and airy and all furniture is hand crafted and of local design. Each room has a sand terrace with comfortable seating where morning tea and coffee is served to start the day. The garden suites are spacious and as well as the features listed above, enjoy the use of a covered terrace with additional seating and a double baraza seating area that can be converted into additional sleeping area for adults or children from the age of 12.

The makuti thatched roof restaurant, with its sea views, specialises in authentic Swahili meals using traditional cooking methods and ingredients. The ‘Under the Palms’ bar is an ideal place to enjoy a fresh fruit juice or even an exotic cocktail or glass of champagne.

For swimming, there is either the hotel’s sea facing swimming pool or the crystal clear waters of the sea. As Mchanga Beach Lodge is situated at sea level and not on the coral reef, the sea here is ideal for swimming. For those who prefer sun bathing, there are many comfortable beds set amongst the hotels grounds for relaxing in as well as 3 charming beach Bandas nestled in the dunes offering shade, sea breezes and views of Mnemba Island and the outer edges of Zanzibar's coral reef. For the more energetic, there is a boule court and a semi-enclosed games room. It is also possible to arrange diving and general water sports locally as well as spice island tours and sailing trips.
