Ras Michamvi is located on the south eastern coast of Zanzibar, on the Michamvi Peninsula. A small headland set between Chwaka Bay to the east and the India Ocean to the west, it is a little paradise harmoniously set in a large natural area with access to powder-white tropical beaches, gardens and forests. Naturally quiet, the only sounds to hear are the waves and nature itself!

There are 15 rooms located in 4 bungalows on a coral rock elevation which overlooks the beach and the ocean. Each room is spacious and furnished in local style with makuti thatched roofs, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, mosquito nets and en-suite bathrooms.

The big makuti thatched roof restaurant is a panoramic open building located on top of the same coral rock elevation as the bungalows, giving the same views overlooking the beach and sea. Offering both local and international cuisine, there is always a wide choice of dishes to try. You can also enjoy a romantic candle-lit dinner and experience the true magic of the moonlight on the waters of the Indian Ocean.

As well as a stunning ocean-front swimming pool, there are other activities to try at Ras Michamvi. There is a fully accredited Kite Surfing centre as well excursions which can be arranged from the hotel. As the reef is only 1kilometre off shore, snorkelling and diving trips can be arranged for guests.

The hotel also hold regular bonfire BBQ parties and as Chwaka Bay is part of the Jozani Forest- Chwaka Bay Conservation Area, there are nature walks that can be arranged with a guide for the guests enjoyment.
