The Sultan's Palace at Zanzibar (more commonly known as Beit-al-Ajaib or the House of Wonders) was built in 1883 by Sayyid Barghash, the third Sultan of Zanzibar. The hotel is situated on the south eastern coast of the exotic island of Zanzibar, approximately 60 kilometres from the airport and Stone Town. The Sultan’s Palace offers a delectable beachfront retreat amid gardens perfumed with citronella and frangipani.

Each of the 15 large shell shaped cottages are named after a flower and are furnished with local antique furniture, carved Omanite doors and hand painted tiles. All have double beds, air-conditioning and a ceiling fan. Other facilities include a telephone, fridge and hair dryer. All rooms have en-suite facilities as well as views of the Indian Ocean from the private veranda and garden.

There are also 5 Imperial Suites with 2 queen size beds, walk in wardrobes, twin showers and basins.

The main restaurant and lounge are situated within the main hotel building and has a relaxing veranda for guests use. There is also a bar and restaurant on the beach.
