The Sunrise Guesthouse is situated on the east coast of Zanzibar and is ideal if you are looking for a casual but romantic hideaway on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with delicious French cuisine! The beautiful beach, shaded by palm trees, is almost deserted and runs for some 15 miles. The nearest civilisation is the little fishing village of Bwejuu, a couple of miles up the coast.

There are 8 independent self-contained bungalows directly on the beach facing the sea and 5 relatively simple rooms that have a garden view. After recent renovation, all rooms have been completely redecorated and have air-conditioning and shutters on windows. All the rooms have air- conditioning, mosquito nets and en-suite facilities.

The restaurant and bar at Sunrise serve a full menu which uses the best local ingredients whilst presenting a menu with a strong French influence. The food is good and reasonably priced.

Although the Sunrise Guesthouse is one of Zanzibar’s smaller hotels, there is a swimming pool for guests as well as a new terrace which has been built on the opposite side of the garden for peace and relaxation.

You can also enjoy a bike ride on brilliant white beaches, snorkel in the Indian Ocean admiring the live corals, enjoy an excursion to see the dolphins or simply just relax at this charming property.
