Unguja Resort
The Unguja Resort can be found on the southern tip of Zanzibar, which means it is able to capture some of the finest sunrise and sunset scenes on the Island. The waters around this area are known to be very popular with Dolphins, and therefore this is ideal choice for those visitors wanting to view these majestic ocean creatures.
The resort consists of just 10 private bungalows which are of excellent size and quality. Each bungalow is decorated in traditional Zanzibari style and consists of a large bedroom, lounge, upstairs landing with separate bed, very large bathroom and a superb ocean view terrace where you can watch the world go by. Each bedroom has air conditioning and some bungalows even have their own private Jacuzzi.
The restaurant serves an excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner. The chef makes use of many local Zanzibar ingredients such as fresh seafood and exotic spices. A private barbeque lunch on one of the small deserted islands near the southern coast can be organized for guests at their request. The small bar overlooks the ocean and offers guests a choice of cocktails amongst other beverages.
There is a large swimming pool situated within the tropical gardens and guests can enjoy the services of the bar whilst relaxing here. Guests can also use the facilities of the One Ocean dive centre that can organise diving trips for both experienced and novice divers. Unguja Lodge has its own traditional Dhow which goes on regular sailing trips to the Menai conservation area, offering the opportunity for snorkelling in some of the most beautiful bays the island offers. After snorkelling the hotel can organize a barbecue lunch for guests on the beach of a deserted island not far from the Kizimkazi coast.
This Lodge can be compared to paradise found, with its good standard of accommodation, excellent food and peaceful, relaxing setting.
