Set in the heart of Stone Town, this authentic Arab house is one of the capital’s oldest buildings, being built in by the Wazir to Sultan Said Bargash in 1885. It is decorated with antiques and rich fabrics, making the atmosphere peaceful and stylish.

The hotel sits above a coffee shop which serves coffee grown on the owners own estate and which is roasted on site. As the shop is not open late there is never any disturbance to guests during the evening.

The hotel has just 8 rooms, all individually designed with air conditioning, mosquito nets and four poster beds. The rooms vary in size and not all are en-suite. The rooftop lounge, where breakfast is served, is light and airy and is an ideal place in which to plan your day. It is also a great place to unwind in the evening whilst enjoying the sights of the Minarets across the city.

Whilst the Zanzibar Coffee House does not have swimming pools, phones or internet connections, all of these facilities are within easy reach for guests. This leads to a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere in the hotel where you can discover the Zanzibar of past times.
