Diving in Zanzibar

The east, oceanic, coast offers the chance of encounters with big pelagics and the coral atolls ensure an abundance of marine life. Zanzibar’s reef, sand channels and rock formations are home to hundreds of different species of marine life.

There are many different types of hard and soft corals and sea anemones, sea whips, sea cucumbers and much more. The sand banks where there is no coral are teaming with wildlife and bugs to keep the youngsters happy.

Diving on Zanzibar there is every chance of seeing the larger animals, particularly if you go to Leven Banks or Mnemba.

Barracuda are often spotted at Leven along with sailfish, Dorado’s and Wahoo, all of which make it a popular spot for big game fishing too.

Mnemba is a dolphin spotting paradise and whale sharks migrate past Zanzibar twice a year.
